Every Girl Deserves to be a Pin Up for the Day

My passion and love of vintage style Pin Up has grown and developed into an absolute obsession. This year I want to find out more about the world of pin up and share what I learn with you . Pin Up photographs are so beautiful and alluring that they offer much inspiration to be feminine and fabulous, the mantra you must surely be used to hearing from me by now.

I am embarking on a journey of discovery and I hope all of you will join me. Over the coming months I shall be introducing you to beautiful pin up photography, pin up models and some truly inspiring stories of ladies who became pin ups and models for the day.

Today I have the pleasure of introducing you to an amazing photographer Kelly Hsiao from Bay Area Pin Ups. I have the great fortune of living in the same area as Kelly and discovering her has been fabulous. Kelly shares my belief that every woman deserves to be a pin up for a day. In fact, this lovely lady makes women’s dreams come true daily.

Kelly is a professional photographer having graduated with a BFA in photography from Pratt Institute, New York in 2000. She instantly loved photographing women and a period of time working with photographer Joyce Tenneson cemented this love and an understanding of how to make women comfortable in front of the camera.

Kelly is an absolute master. Believe me, it is one thing to take amazing photographs with well versed models. It is quite another thing entirely to produce amazing pin up pictures with ordinary women who have never posed for a photograph in their lives.

The ladies Kelly photographs are all ordinary women, mothers, girlfriends, wives who have never posed, never been in front of a lense and certainly never contorted their bodies into perfect pin up poses. I appreciate that you’re not all like me and forever pulling pin up poses whenever possible, but believe me these poses are not easy and for Kelly to get these pictures she must build inspirational rapport with her ladies.

‘There are many personal stories to why they are doing a pin-up shoot. Often it is for a significant other such as a wedding or anniversary gift, but some to celebrate their own achievement such as weightloss, a special birthday, or just to be photographed in a glamourous way. Whatever the reason, I am always happy to help women celebrate a turning point in their lives and have some fun- creating memories they will remember forever. With Valentine’s Day coming up Kelly is busy with clients producing amazing gifts for their partners. What a fabulous idea! I can’t imagine any man complaining about such a gift. I have been in front of the lens a couple of times and I highly highly recommend it. Getting in front of a lens glammed up to the nines and coming away feeling beautiful leaves a glow that lasts for a very long time.

This lady is a mother of four! She never wears make up and has certainly never done anything like this before – amazing!

If you live in the Bay Area or are ever visiting, then Kelly is the lady to visit to be a pin up for the day. Kelly helps ladies put together amazing photo albums, coffee table books, calendars, vintage effect canvasses (such as the lady in red with the umbrella) that are simply stunning. Pin Up packages with Kelly cost from $595 to $3500 (£382-$2,249), that’s a lot of money but when you consider what an amazing time you would have and the memories you will cherish forever, with a photographer like Kelly it is absolutely worth every penny. I’ve been looking into these packages for a while! I adore the pin up look! And when I saw the pin up style shoot you did with Yuri that was it, I just *have* to try it!

they are all so gorgeous. EVERY woman deserves to feel beautiful. I think pin up is great for giving these women a confidence boost. I love that they are sexy without being overly sexual, everything these days is out there for everyone to see!

i have and i loved it! i would love to do pinup shoots everyday if i could, as a model or stylist! if you find yourself in virginia i know a very talented and lovely photographer!

It’s fabulous isn’t it, I certainly hope to be doing more photoshoots, just need to get to know some new photographers in my area. Let me have the details of your photographer in Virginia as I have readers all over the world and you never know who might like the information.
