Think Frock It’s Friday Special
July 2, 2010 | Category: Think Frock It's Friday, Uncategorized
Hello!
My first Think Frock It’s Friday in my new home and what an exciting one it is too.
You may remember that my first Think Frock post was about a fabulous lady I met on Twitter called Claire (@poppyvalentine) who owns the fabulous shop Poppy Valentine which has exquisite frocks, separates and bags.
Claire makes all of the Poppy Valentine pieces from gorgeous vintage fabrics which she has trawled the country for over many years. More recently she has launched a range called ‘Curious Lily’ which features beautiful vintage designs made from stunning modern fabrics.
I ADORE this range of clothes and was so excited to have the opportunity to model some of her pieces as part of my photoshoot. So, today, I shall be showing off some gorgeous Curious Lily pieces that I have already started to add to my wardrobe and shall definitely continue! (click on the images to find the pieces at Poppy Valentine)

Very excitingly my readers have the opportunity to purchase anything from Poppy Valentine and receive a ten per cent discount by using the discount code ‘thinkfrock’. All of the Curious Lily dresses are in limited edition fabrics so you can guarantee that nobody is going to be turning up at that party or wedding in the same dress! I wear both of my Curious Lily dresses on regular days and find them incredibly comfortable and versatile in terms of being able to dress up or down. Best of all the two I have from above don’t need ironing!!
For those of you that are curious to see more of my photos from this shoot head to the right of this page, click on the Facebook icon and ‘Like’ my page. I shall be posting them there this weekend for you to see. You can also become my friend on Facebook by finding me ‘Lottie Ryan’.
I hope you have all updated your Google Readers with my new domain, if you haven’t yet, again just click on the icon top right of this page.
I have to do my little speech now. Thank you so much to Yuri at Urban Vox Photography for taking so many fab pictures of little ole me. We had such a great day taking these and I so hope that one day I get to do this sort of thing again (if anyone wants me, i’m in the UK for the next couple of months
) Yuri writes a fabulous blog and he vlogs a lot too over at Urban Vox.
Thank you also to my gorgeous friend Alice who was my stylist for the day. I love the way she styled me for the shots and it was fab having her there to take care of my interests and make sure that we got the best out of the shoot. She sells some truly stunning vintage handbags at Portobello Market and other places. Check out her blog Katy Fern Handbags for more information.
Thank you to Claire at Poppy Valentine for letting me use her gorgeous range from Curious Lily. I soooo loved wearing them.
Thank you to Anna at Urban Ice for loaning me her gorgeous tagua nut jewellery to add a quirky modern edge to the shots. Alice loved the jewellery so much that I bought her a ring to say thanks. Believe me if Alice likes something it means they are super cool (she has recently designed for Stella McCartney don’t you know?!)
Thank you lastly to my gorgeous, lovely, friendly and oh so supportive bloggy friends. I know you all think I am the one giving you confidence but you have no idea how much writing this blog has allowed me to be more myself and become more confident. You lot rock!
Hope you have a frocking good Friday!
Lottie -x-

on July 3rd, 2010Your photo shoot looks really good. Wonderful selection of dresses and accessories. I particularly like the two halter neck dresses….. A style that I have always felt unable to wear. I wore my new frock yesterday but unfortunately the photos were not good enough to post
I’ll try again though!

on July 4th, 2010Lovely stuff! The Doris Day dress is just the style I’ve been looking for. Can you choose the fabric, or do you just get a random one? I’d hate to end up with a colour that doesn’t suit me.

on August 4th, 2010Oh you are a foxy morsel of gorgeousness! I have been saving your blog for a big, delicious catch up with a cup of tea, and in fact I’m in bed with cocoa reading it. I love the clothes of this era, and was fiddling around putting my hair into pincurly waves in front of the mirror this evening. Oh for the days when waists and bottoms were in!
Lottie
on August 5th, 2010It’s up to us girls to show people that waists and bottoms are still the order of the day!
